If you hear any cheering from the iVillage offices today, you'll have to forgive us. We are crazy excited about the news that iVillage's My Best Idea, our hit video show focusing on how to make life simpler and easier for YOU, is now a Webby Award winner in the How-To/DIY category!
Woo Hoo! One more time. Woo Hoo!
Why is this so significant? Well, think of the competition. 11,000 entries in total (all categories) from all 50 states and over 60 countries around the world. It continues to be the leading international Internet award recognizing the “best of the Web.”
Oh yes, we are proud and honored!
When we conceptualized the show, we knew we wanted to create a web series that would help YOU in your everyday life. The main goal was to make sure the ideas were simple, useful and time-saving. What better way to reinvent and reimagine the way we do everyday tasks than to ask our community for their “best idea." We were surprised and delighted to find so many wonderful and creative ideas that people were willing to share. Some of our favorites include re-using those clips on plastic hangers and turning them into chip clips, and salad in a jar, a clever way to keep those greens fresh and delicious.
Claudia and Adriane Kiss, also known as The Kissters, are amazing hosts who bring an enthusiastic flare to any DIY project. The series producer, Lisa Nee, who had the original idea for the project, works tirelessly to find great ideas that always make us say, "Aha, I never thought of that!" Producer Pat Sandora, iVillage's former senior video producer, helped discover The Kissters, oversaw the production and worked with Lisa to ensure that the ideas were simple and entertaining but most of all beneficial to users. Kudos also to Alison Bucalo, iVillage's Director of Video, for bringing her broadcast and production experience to every aspect of the series.
We hope My Best Idea provides information that you find useful and helps make life easier and more fun.
We also hope you keep watching...and help us out with our next project. The Webbys only allow for a FIVE-word acceptance speech at a ceremony at the end of May! FIVE words! What can we possibly say in five words? Please help us out with a comment below!
