iVoice Amanda is the mom behind the popular humor and parenting blog, parenting BY dummies. Outsmarted by her children daily as she attempts to navigate motherhood, childhood, and everything in between, she enjoys sharing her stories of failure and success in a humorous, heartfelt, and honest way.
Amanda began her career as an 8th grade language arts and social studies teacher, but quickly learned that wrangling Dudes and writing funny stuff was more her thing. She now spends her days wrangling wannabe Jedi's and her nights updating parenting BY dummies and watching reality shows about pretty much anything. You can find her Tweeting at odd times of the day as @dumbparent about everything from sneaking cupcake snacks in her garage to how to live a Formerly Frumpy life as a Mom Awesome cute shoe hoarder. She loves chocolate, puppies, the smell of fresh air, and long walks on the beach. Actually, she hates long walks of any sort, but it sounded good for the bio.
Amanda is also the owner of a photography business, social media manager for a local magazine, and writes on various topics including parenting, photography, current events, children's activities, technology for families, and reality TV for a local review blog and contributes to a number of online and print publications. And she is the Week 1 coach for the iVillage Back to School Community Challenge!
