iVoice Beth Engelman on Education Nation

Monday’s most memorable moment did not happen while I was listening to Warren Buffett, or watching educators discuss the importance of playful learning on brain development. The highlight wasn’t even getting a chance to ask ten governors a question in front of Brian Williams  (though that was pretty cool!).  The most meaningful moment happened during lunch when I sat down with a mom I had just met and we discussed the importance of Early Intervention Programs and the impact they’ve had on our young children’s lives. I am so grateful that my state has an EI program that is free, accessible and most importantly, staffed with dedicated and effective educators and therapists.  If you’re concerned your baby or toddler has a significant developmental delay, talk to your pediatrician about Early Intervention options. The first five years of a child’s development are critical, so why not make sure your child has every opportunity to succeed.
