With their Motown hits dwindling, the family left the label in 1975 and signed with Epic Records. The move further laid the groundwork for Michael's future superstar solo career, as he became the main songwriter for group—renamed The Jacksons—which scored hits with MJ-penned tunes like "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" and "Can You Feel It."
