In its previous 39 seasons, Sesame Street has rivaled grown-up shows like The Tonight Show in its ability to attract celebrity appearances.
The New York Post reports that the show's landmark 40th season will deliver even more star power. Celebs set to rub elbows with the muppets include Cameron Diaz, Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Sandler, Eva Longoria, Ricky Gervais, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, Hugh Jackman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Matthew Fox and Michelle Obama.
According to the Huffington Post, Mrs. Obama taped her segment in New York back in May, when she also spoke at the United Nations and the Time 100 dinner.
Over the past four decades, the Jim Henson TV phenomenon has seen the likes of Billy Joel, Barbara Walters, Kofi Annan, Martina Navratilolova and Robin Williams, to name just a few of the famous people who've stopped by 123 Sesame Street.
The 40th season premieres on November 11th. Until then, fans can get a taste of what's to come at SesameStreet.org, which has plenty of video clips, including one of the first lady sharing some health tips with Elmo.
