When James Franco last visited Port Charles, he brought murder, betrayal, kinky sex, and -- worst of all! -- high-concept installation art. Now, the movie star (Milk, Pineapple Express) has announced plans to resume his unlikely soap stint on ABC's General Hospital in June. And this time, say producers, "the hospital will be in peril."
Franco, 32, appeared on the long-running daytime drama for two months last winter, as a charismatic death-obsessed artist named -- yes -- Franco, who happened to be a serial killer on the side. The fictional Franco exited the show in January, after planting bombs underneath two of the series' regular characters. When he returns, he'll be taking the whole show on a "wild ride of mystery, music, murder and mayhem" in pursuit of his "obsessive vendetta." Good times!
As for the real Franco -- who's also a full-time grad student -- he seems psyched to soap up his career again. "Working on GH was a great experience," he told People. "I love the cast, writers, directors and producers. They have become a new family for me. I can't wait for the work we will do this summer." Guess being snubbed by the Daytime Emmys didn't sting so much after all!
