Jason Segel may have had a serious girlfriend on The Muppets, but in real life he is still a single man.
The reason? The 31-year-old actor, who co-wrote The Muppets and stars in the movie, jokes that he doesn't have a woman in his life because of his unquenchable thirst for... puppets.
"My house is packed with puppets. Like, everywhere. Thank God I have a slightly bigger house now, so I have one room that's sort of dedicated to puppets," Segel tells New York magazine. "But for a long time I lived in a one-bedroom apartment that was just crammed with puppets. It's why I'm still single."
Segel went on to explain why he thought making a new Muppet movie was important to him. "The last Muppet movie was twelve years ago," he said. "This generation, from zero to 12, they've grown up with no Muppet movie in their lives and that just seemed crazy to me, because it really influenced who I wanted to be."
So, between bringing the Muppets to a whole new generation and bringing them back into our lives after more than a decade, we should be thanking Segel for doing some good with his penchant for puppets.
And, ladies, if you're interested in landing this single babe, be ready to make room for not only his furry felt friends, but also his real friends. The man isn't afraid to show the world how much he loves his pals, like Paul Rudd, whom he made out with on Saturday Night Live last week!
