Who says wardrobe malfunctions only affect women? Jason Segel is here to prove that it's not just female celebrities who can accidentally show more than they intended!
In his recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Segel reveals that he had a serious fashion mishap at the Academy Awards last month.
"My tuxedo self-destructed," Segel tells Ellen DeGeneres. "It was perfectly fitted and then slowly, I'm sitting there and just buttons start falling off my tux until my shirt is held together by my bowtie and that it's tucked in. That's it."
"You're not exaggerating?" Ellen asks.
"I'm not exaggerating," Segel continues. "So then I stood up and applauded for somebody like Morgan Freeman or somebody great, with gravitas, and then I sat back down and, I'm not joking, my pants ripped from my butt to like the bottom of my leg."
It was a "perfect Jason Segel" moment, the funnyman joked. He added that he felt like he had "crashed the cool kids party" at the ceremony.
The 32-year-old star of The Muppets also talked about the Academy Award the movie won for best original song, composed by Flight of the Conchords musician Bret McKenzie.
"It's the first Muppets Oscar of all time," Segel explains. "In the pantheon of songs like 'It's Not Easy Being Green' and 'Rainbow Connection,' the fact that we got that, it was such a thrill and an honor."
