Jeff Conaway in Coma After Alleged Overdose

The actor -- who tried to get sober on Celebrity Rehab -- was found unconscious after reportedly taking too many pain pills

Actor Jeff Conaway is currently in a coma and in critical condition after an apparent drug overdose last week. The Grease star, who attempted to get help on VH1's Celebrity Rehab in 2008, was found unconscious on May 11 after possibly taking too many pain pills.

"He is in a coma and unresponsive at this time," Conaway's manager, Phil Brock, told E! News.

The 60-year-old actor, who also starred in the Danny DeVito comedy series Taxi, has had a long battle with substance abuse. His attempts at sobriety on Celebrity Rehab were unsuccessful, and last year he took a nasty fall while under the influence of methadone and OxyContin.

Conaway is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Encino, Calif.
