Jeff Conaway's family has questions about his death. According to reports, those closest to the Taxi star, requested that an autopsy be performed after the actor passed away at the age of 60.

"Jeff's sisters, Michelle and Carla, wanted to have the autopsy done to rule out any foul play involving his death," a source told RadarOnline. "There is no evidence that there was, but they wanted to be certain."

Conaway was found unconscious in his home on May 11, after an alleged prescription overdose. He subsequently fell into a coma and his sisters decided to remove his feeding tube and the ventilator that kept him alive on May 27.

"Jeff's sisters are aware of his long battle with prescription drugs, and they know that this was the contributing factor in Jeff's death, but at the same time they wanted to set their minds to rest."

Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter confirmed to E! News that an autopsy was performed, but that it could take up to six weeks for results to come back.

In the meantime, Winter said the actor's body has been released to his family and is now at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries. Conaway's sister has said that the family plans to have the actor's remains cremated and kept among family members.
