16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has entered a rehab facility in Malibu, Calif., Us Weekly reports.
Although Evans has gotten into drug-related trouble in the past, a source tells Us that the 19-year-old is using at the moment. "(Jenelle) is clean right now and has been that way for several weeks. She's doing this program to help her cope with all the stress in her life: her family situation, her legal issues, her general anxiety."
It has indeed been a rough road for the single mom/party girl. In October of 2010, she was arrested with her boyfriend Kieffer Delp for breaking into a vacant house in Oak Island, N.C., allegedly to smoke pot. In April, she pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, and the judge went easy on her, saying the charges would be dropped if Evans performs 24 hours of community service.
In March of 2011, Evans got into a fight with former friend Brittany Truett, which was caught on video and then quickly went viral. Apparently, they were fighting over Delp, who was, ironically, arrested that very day for cocaine possession.
Evans has been living at home with her mother Barbara, who has "primary legal custody and primary physical custody" of Jenelle's nearly 2-year-old son Jace.
16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom have been controversial from the start, with parents and media wondering if such programs were actually endorsing teen pregnancy. A recent study shows that the opposite may very well be the case, but that does not change the fact that many 16 and Pregnant alumni have been in nonstop trouble since the launch of the show.
In a recent Us Weekly cover story, Evans opened up about her decision to hand over her son to her mother, saying, "When he is older, I will tell him I was really young and I couldn't put a roof over my own head, let alone his."
We certainly hope that Jenelle can keep herself drug-free, and try to get those anger issues under control. She's got a long way to go to be an adult.
