Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli Deny "Hurtful" Cheating Rumors

The couple wants to make it clear that "there are no third parties involved" in their decision to get divorced

Since going public with their intention to divorce, actors Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have had to deal with a series of reports speculating that adultery was primarily to blame for their decision to separate.

Married for 11 years, the couple was so upset about the flurry of infidelity rumors they decided to release a statement to set the record straight.

"There are rumors out there which are completely untrue and hurtful to our family. We just want to make it very clear – there are no third parties involved," they told People in a joint statement.

The Twilight star, 38, and the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 39, met on the set of the TV movie An Unfinished Affair in 1996 and welcomed oldest daughter Luca the following year (she's now 14). They married in 2001 and had two more daughters: Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.

After nearly 16 years together, Facinelli and Garth announced their split on March 13.

"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time," they said via statement.
