Is Jennifer Grey the Only One Excited About 'Dirty Dancing' Remake?

The film's original star is convinced that the reboot will be "something special" -- but many die-hard fans have a much different opinion!

Many Dirty Dancing fans have expressed their anger at the news that Lionsgate will remake the 1987 classic -- but the original Baby herself isn't bothered that someone else will be filling her dancing shoes. Jennifer Grey is already giving the reboot her stamp of approval.

"I love @Kennyortega and trust that he will do something special #DirtyDancingRemake," Grey twittered on Tuesday, surprising her fans who've been calling the news a Hollywood travesty around the Web.

But Grey, who worked closely with Ortega when he choreographed first film's dance sequences, seems to be in the minority when it comes to expressing her support. EW.com captured fan outrage, sharing 15 reader comments that range from: "Nobody puts Baby in a remake! Terrible idea" to the dramatic, "This finally proves to me that there is no God. Why must Hollywood remake everything? Vomit!"

All of the outpouring of fan dedication to Grey and the late Patrick Swayze has moved the 51-year-old actress. She later added on Twitter: "Blown away by all of the love expressed for . Makes me want to see it again. So grateful to have been a part of it."

We want to know what you think! Is a Dirty Dancing remake a good idea? And which current actors woud you choose to star as Baby and Johnny?
