We don't really expect to see Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony together these days -- particularly not in the back seat of a convertible! And yet that's exactly where the soon-to-be-divorced couple was spotted this weekend. New photos on TMZ show Lopez, and Anthony, both 42, waving happily from the backseat of a cherry-red Mustang as they drove through the Hamptons in New York. Does this mean that their rocky relationship status has changed?
Not likely. Although the pop stars gave the appearance of happily vacationing together, Anthony's rep tells People that he was just there to visit his 3-year-old twins.
"The intention was to spend time with his kids Emme and Max, and they had a beautiful time," says a spokesperson for singer Anthony. "He's been with Max and Emme a few times now."
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lopez said that she and her ex would continue to co-parent together. "We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive," said the American Idol judge. "He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."
One remaining question is whether Lopez and Anthony will continue their professional relationship. Together they have been developing a reality show, ¡Q'viva! The Chosen, which seeks to find the next great Latin American singer. While the show is technically still a go, sources have expressed doubt about the ex-couple's ability to helm a talent competition together.
"The idea was for the couple, along with choreographer Jamie King, to tour 21 countries scouting for fresh Latino talent," an insider explained to the U.K.'s Mirror newspaper. "But obviously, the last thing either of them feels like doing right now is touring together."
Understandable -- but if they can stand being squeezed in the backseat of a convertible together, surely they can handle sharing a big tour bus, right?
