So You Think You Can Dance is beefing up its star power for their big finale on Wednesday. In addition to performances by Adam Lambert, Mary J. Blige and Leona Lewis, the dance competition will be featuring a choreographed number by the one and only Jennifer Lopez!
Jen recently made headlines when she took a tumble while performing her hit "Louboutins" at this year's American Music Awards, but plans to team up with SYTCD choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon and redeem herself with a holiday-themed number.
"The idea is kind of a cross between a Marilyn Monroe, 'Santa Baby' and a 'Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend,' but using shoes. Shoes are a girl’s best friend nowadays instead of diamonds,” Napoleon quipped.
“What would a girl want for Christmas? Of course it would be a shiny pair of Louboutin shoes," Tabitha added. "It’s for the holiday season [and] we’re putting a holiday twist to 'Louboutins.’”
Adding to the appeal of the number are some familiar SYTYCD faces, who will get a chance to dance along with Jen.
"We’re going to incorporate some girls in the performance that were in seasons past. I don’t think any other artists that have performed on this show have actually incorporated contestants from the show,” Tabitha explains. “It’s not just a performance … it’s a connection to the show.”
Napoleon promises the J.Lo performance will be “a good holiday treat," especially with the "mixture of the kids on the show getting to interact with a pop sensation.”
