With a new movie, a new TV show, a new tour and a new boyfriend, Jennifer Lopez is one busy lady. In fact, her schedule is so crowded that she's considering ditching her gig as American Idol judge to clear up some space.
According to Us Weekly, a source has confirmed that Lopez plans to leave Fox's signature talent competition at the end of this season.
"There is just too much going on for her right now," explains the source.
For the first time, Lopez just topped Forbes' Top 100 list of powerful celebrities, in great part thanks to her career boost from joining Idol (in addition to starting the Q'Viva franchise with ex-husband Marc Anthony, launching a clothing line, becoming the face of L'Oreal, etc.) -- which has provided her not only a staggering $20 million payday but a mini-comeback of sorts.
But the 42-year-old multi-hyphenate star (actress-singer-producer-television personality-apparel designer) is apparently ready to move on from her judging duties and concentrate on her other projects, like recording a new album, joining Enrique Iglesias on a 20-city tour of the U.S. and Latin America and appearing in several new films.
"She regrets she can't stay on the show," the source adds. "It's been an incredible experience and she is forever grateful that she did it."
So far, Lopez's camp has yet to officially confirm the news, but the mother of two (who's dating dancer Casper Smart) did hint that she was experiencing a bit of work-life imbalance while promoting her new movie, What to Expect When You're Expecting.
"I'm a little tired right now, I'm not going to lie," Lopez admitted to Us Weekly. "I've been rehearsing, doing Idol, promoting this movie... the kids, it's a lot of stuff!"
