Jennifer Lopez Throws Marc Anthony A Salsa-Filled Celebration
Jennifer Lopez might just be a superhero. J.Lo completed a triathlon on Sunday in Malibu, then had the energy to throw her husband, Marc Anthony, a crazy surprise bash -- in New York -- later that night.
Marc turned the big 4-0, in a big way, as Jen arranged an Old Havana-style theme, turning the Bowery hotel into a 1940's Cuban nightclub. Some of the highlights were a performance by burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, a salsa orchestra, mojitos and showgirls in feather headdresses (like the Copacabana). The party planner Liberty Woodman, who was Jen's right-hand man, told People.com, "She wanted a sexy vibe with the casino and showgirls."
Guests included Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy and Jen's BFF Leah Remini. "Jennifer is amazing. I did a triathlon once in college but for me a triathlon is now eating, drinking and sleeping," joked Brooke. Leah agreed the fete was fab, "The party is over the top. It's pure Jennifer."
So, how did Marc like his surprise?
"I can't believe we pulled it off," Jen marveled. "He was so blown away."
Sounds like a blast, but I still can't get over the fact that Jennifer had the energy to HOST a party across the country, after completing her first triathlon. I took a surfing lesson once -- for an hour -- and had to sleep for two days afterwards.
