Women usually have to go to the doctor to get a breast reduction, but Lifetime gave one to Jennifer Love Hewitt without even asking! The original print ad for her Lifetime show The Client List -- which debuted April 8 -- shows the 33-year-old wearing boobilicious lingerie that bares plenty of cleavage (see photo above to the left). But a new version, which has run in Entertainment Weekly, covers up much of J-Love's ample cleavage with a black bra and even seems to have digitally shrunk her breasts by a couple of cup sizes (see photo above to the right).
Considering this is a show about a masseuse whose sessions often end with an especially happy client, we have to wonder: Why the change?
"Some magazines and websites wanted something a little tamer," an insider explains to E! Online. "So Lifetime changed them a little bit. Things like this happen all the time. Would Lifetime want all the ads to show them as they really are? Of course!"
Hewitt herself expressed surprise at the altered ads. Somebody sent me a copy of the photograph, and I was like, 'Ummm... what happened?'" the actress told KROQ's The Kevin & Bean Show on Friday (via the New York Daily News). "I'm not quite sure what's going on. But apparently somebody wanted me to have a boob reduction."
Fortunately, Hewitt's surprise "breast reduction" doesn't seemed to have hurt the success of the show. Its premiere Sunday night raked in 2.8 million viewers, according to Deadline. That's the most-watched Lifetime event since Drop Dead Diva brought in the same amount of viewers when it premiered in 2009. And that's nothing to complain about for a niche cable TV station.
Still, Hewitt must be a little bit bummed: When Maxim recently asked her to reveal her favorite body part, she replied: "It's horrible to say, but I like my boobs. They've always served me well. They're good."
