Jennifer Love Hewitt, 31, wrote the book on romance -- and like a true romantic, she's already rebounding from her year-long relationship with comedian Jamie Kennedy. Her new beau, according to People, is actor-director John Mallory Asher, 37. Asher is best-known as the star of the '90s TV series Weird Science... and as the father of ex-wife Jenny McCarthy's autistic son Evan.
While Hewitt and Asher haven't publicly declared their relationship, a friend confirms it's true. "They've been spending a lot of time together and are having fun," the source says. "He showers her with attention and is helping her move on from her breakup with Jamie." (Kennedy and Hewitt announced their split in March.) The two reportedly met on the set of The Ghost Whisperer, which is executive-produced by Hewitt and costars ex-boyfriend Kennedy. An upcoming guest appearance by Asher could make things awkward!
Ironically, this news is leaking the same week that Jenny McCarthy and longtime partner Jim Carrey announced their break-up. Asher was married to McCarthy from 1999 to 2005 and directed her in the critically panned 2005 film Dirty Love.
As for Hewitt's assertion that she doesn't want to date famous guys anymore -- guess the girl just can't help herself!
