Life might be a tad bit awkward on the set of the Ghost Whisperer, now that the show's costars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy have ended their romance. Hewitt, 31, and Kennedy, 39, began dating in March 2009, but a source has confirmed to People that the couple has parted ways.
There is nothing too juicy behind the split -- nobody cheated or messed up --- a source says, while an on-set insider swears that there is no ill will between the two and that they plan on staying close.
"It wasn't contentious," the source blabbed. "It had kind of just run its course … They just sort of looked at each other and said, 'We like each other and we make each other laugh, but this isn't for the long-term.'"
Hewitt is also super busy, juggling her acting/producing duties over at CBS, while getting ready to head out on tour to promote her first relationship-advice book, The Day I Shot Cupid. Kennedy has a hectic schedule as well, and their lack of free time wasn't helping their romance.
"She's working constantly, and Jamie's working on the show and touring [with his stand-up comedy act]," says the source. "It just isn't conducive to a relationship."
