Actress, writer and activist Jenny McCarthy is never shy about her personal life, and she’s more than happy to talk about her recent good fortune in the dating game. McCarthy, 38, tells Ellen Degeneres that she’s found love with sports agent Paul Krepelka -- but they didn't meet in a typical Hollywood way.
The former Playboy Playmate (and ex-girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey) admits that she turned to blind dating when she found herself newly single.
"The first blind dates were the really bizarre dudes that were like, 'Do you know Sharon Stone?' And I’m sitting on a date going, 'Well, I know of her. I’ve seen her in movies.' 'Well do you think you can get an autograph?' I’m like, 'Oh, my God,'" she says.
McCarthy may have had to go out with a few frogs, but eventually she met Mr. Right. But the actress has yet to introduce her new man to her 8-year-old son. "Evan is, by the way, on the strictest VIP meet and greet," she says. "That boy is very important to me."
Still, she jokes that Krepelka might become Evan’s stepdad sooner rather than later, and she gushes over his thick, Boston accent. "It’s like Good Will Hunting strong, that I really can’t understand anything he says to me," she laughs. "He could’ve proposed to me, and I could’ve said yes by now and I have no idea."
We’ll keep an eye out for an engagement ring. And after hearing McCarthy’s success story, we might be willing to try a blind date ourselves!
