Pricey Skin Creams? Nah, Jenny McCarthy Will Take Botox

Today on The View, Jenny McCarthy, happily admitted that she uses Botox. The View ladies all commended the 37-year-old actress for being so honest about it. "I think that a lot of girls in Hollywood say that they don't, but then their faces don't move in the movies," McCarthy said. Then she went one step further, and mentioned the effect that their deception has on all women.

"There are so many girls and women, we look at these magazines and watch these women on TV, and we try to be like them," she said. "We buy these magic creams that they sell. They're not using the magic creams. It's the Botox. So you'd better be honest about it."

I looked into some of these magic creams, and the celebrities who claim to use them. Here are a few: Kristin Davis uses AHAVA (mineral beauty serum: $65). Brooke Shields uses Juara (sweet black tea and rice facial moisturizer: $48). Kate Hudson uses 3LAB ('the perfect cream' antiaging exclusive complex: $175).

I'm sad to admit that in the past, I've fallen for the "celebrities use it" pitch. A year ago, I tried kaplanMD (replenishing night cream: $145), which many, many celebrities (like Julia Louis-Dreyfus) supposedly use. Guess what? I saw absolutely no difference in my skin.

I don't know whether Kristin Davis or Brooke Shields are using Botox. I bet they'd deny it if someone asked. But I'm more inclined to believe Jenny McCarthy on this one.
