How do you scare a guido? Find out the punchline by watching the season 2 finale of MTV's Jersey Shore (Thursday, 10 p.m. ET). Or just keep reading here…
Thursday's finale involves the tanned and gelled reality stars coming in very close proximity to an alligator during a road trip to the Everglades. The cold-blooded reptile actually charges their boat and snaps his teethy jaws at them.
So it seems that even alligators think the Jersey Shore cast is over the top. Perhaps the scaly creature saw last week's episode, when a drunk Snooki picked a fight at a cheesy Miami nightclub. Or maybe he, too, was shocked by J-Woww's black and neon pink "ultimate stripper outfit" and her "hookup board," which delineated all of the spit swapping among the cast members? (That scene did lead to a particularly fun moment, when Snooki declared how embarrassed she was that she'd been with all three guys in the house.) Any of these scenes could certainly drive a reptile to snap.
Even before the final episode airs, we know that none of the cast actually gets eaten by an alligator. The Sitch made it through to humiliate himself on ABC's Dancing With the Stars, and Snooki's recent arrest proves that she's still trucking along. But let's be honest, seeing an alligator have its way with the cast during the season finale would provide a certain satisfaction, wouldn't it? (Okay, we don't really want them to be eaten alive.)
It would be just like watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when we see all the childrens' misdeeds -- and then we watch what happens to them for acting that way. But, alas. Despite another season of bad behavior, these guidos and guidettes will not get their comeuppance. Instead, they just keep getting rewarded with book deals, clothing lines, supplement lines and lots of lots of camera time. It's a guido's world, after all. Alligators just live in it.
