The fifth season of MTV's Jersey Shore drew to a close last night, and viewers gleaned all sorts of new knowledge from the finale…
Oh, just kidding. We learned nothing, as usual, but our favorite bronzed knuckleheads were as entertaining as ever! If the show ends here -- and it just might, with all the planned spin-offs, Shore's declining ratings and a certain poufy-princess' pregnancy on the horizon -- the gang will go out on a high note. (No, no that kind of high! These kids mostly just like to get buzzed on Ron-Ron Juice and Club Karma's selection of beer and girly drinks.)
The big theme of season 5's finale episode: pulling pranks. First up is Vinny and Pauly D's "turn the house inside out" gag. When the rest of the crew returned home from camping, they found all of their possessions outside. Not to be outdone, the girls got them back by…launching water balloons at them on the deck. Hey, they don't call this show mindless entertainment for nothing! Watch the prank-war play out here:
There was also a side story about the blossoming relationship between Deena's sister, Joanie and Mike's brother, Frankie. In typical Jersey Shore fashion, the talk focused on the couple's sex life, probably because the relationship is their sex life. The graphic details were bleeped, but the fact that the not-exactly-virginal Snooki found them "disgusting" is more than a little disconcerting. Maybe not as disconcerting as Vinny's threesome with some lesbians, though. Ick.
As the episode wrapped up, Snooki recalled a sentiment she first shared with iVillage -- that she never wants to stop doing reality TV. In her final confessional on the episode, she declared, "I definitely would love to be in this house fifty years from now. I mean, I can do this forever, like every summer until I'm 90 years old."
Of course, she may change her mind once she gives birth to her "little meatball" -- the baby she's having with boyfriend Jionni LaValle. In a recent interview with MTV's Jersey Shore After Hours, the 24-year-old guidette admits that this whole pregnancy thing "happened kind of quick," but she's "in total mom mode" and already looking on the bright side and ready to be "MILF."
Frankly it's tough to imagine Snooki's return to Seaside Heights with baby in tow. Even though she likened pregnancy sickness to a "hangover," her days of drinking, smushing and tanning will likely be swapped for changing diapers and warming up bottles. On the other hand, considering the big pay check she gets from MTV, she could definitely swing a nanny. Or five.
