Fans of the Jersey Shore probably weren't too surprised when pint-sized breakout star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested after a drunken day on the beach. But they may be surprised to hear what she's being charged with!
Polizzi, 22, was arrested in late July for public intoxication and disorderly conduct on the beach at Seaside Heights, N.J. (where MTV's pop culture phenomenon is filmed). But on Wednesday, prosecutors in the case added a new charge to the case: creating a public nuisance. In other words, being really, really annoying.
Snooki was not present at the hearing, but her lawyer, Raymond Raya, entered a "not guilty" plea for all three charges. The trial is scheduled for Sept. 8. Ff convicted, Polizzi could face up to $2,000 in fines -- though with the newly inflated salaries of the GTL fist-pumpers, this could just be a drop in the bucket!
But, it seems beachgoers weren't the only ones frustrated with Snooki's behavior that day. "My dad was very, very pissed," Snooki told reporters. "He's like, 'I didn't raise you like this.' I just felt really bad, so I'm definitely going to stop drinking during the daytime. And now when I go out, I only have a couple drinks."
Of course, Polizzi isn't the only one with a rap sheet. Costar Ronnie Magro, 24, was arrested last year for aggravated assault (which was shown in the first season finale), and, most recently, for unpaid parking tickets.
