Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Team Up to Create Tween Clothing Line

The famous sisters will design clothes "that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities"

Simpson sisters unite! Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are coming together to make the world a more fashionable place for young girls. The pair has announced that they will be collaborating on a line of clothing aimed at the tween scene.

The new line will fall under the Jessica Simpson Collection, which has already made 30-year-old Jessica a fashion mogul. The singer-turned-designer dished about their new project to WWD.com.

"Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand," she says. "I'm excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today's tweens."

The new duds hit stores this fall and will feature sportswear, denim and activewear with a "girly, playful attitude." You can expect to see an array of very Ashlee-like hoodies, graphic-Ts, drawstring pants and funky footwear.

"My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion," Ashlee says.

This is the first time the Simpson girls have teamed up on a fashion-related project. But with Jessica's clothing line barreling towards the $1 billion mark, it's pretty safe to assume Ashlee made a smart move.
