It sounds like Jessica Sanchez and DeAndre Brackensick made sweet music both on and off the American Idol stage: Sanchez has confirmed that the two are dating!
Sanchez, 16, might have beaten Brackensick, 17, during Idol's eleventh season (she was runner up to winner Phillip Phillips), but it seems like they're both winners now.
"I got a secret and I want you guys to guess. I'll nod if it's no or yes," Sanchez teased in a U Stream chat on Thursday. When a fan asked if Jessica's secret was that she had a boyfriend, she replied: "Yup. DeAndre. Hahah. He's my boyfriend. Love you guys!"
The couple likely has plenty to bond about, especially with the big changes that recently took place in their lives. Even though she placed second on Idol, Sanchez has already been signed to Interscope Records, and will likely focus on her music career from here on out because she is home-schooled. Brackensick, who came in eight place, graduated high school in May.
If you need any proof of how cute these two are together, just check out this clip of them performing "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" alongside fellow contestant Candice Glover during a Las Vegas stop on their current Idol concert tour. Clearly Sanchez and Brackensick didn't use all their time alone together just for practicing!
Sanchez is currently working on her upcoming album, which she calls a mix of Rihanna and Mariah Carey.
"What I did on the show was more competition mode. It was to show my vocals -- 'Let's sing some Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.' Now it's like, 'I'm Jessica Sanchez and I have to do me,'" she tells Zap2it. "It's more of the urban, Rihanna kind of feel and the R&B kind of stuff. A little bit of pop. It's just a big mixture of stuff, so it's exciting."
