Jessica Simpson is not only dealing with being a new mother trying to finish losing all of her baby weight, she's also a concerned daughter coping with the separation of her parents, Joe and Tina Simpson.
Making things even more complicated for the singer-turned-fashion maven is the rumor that an affair is to blame for her parents' split.
As is to be expected, a source says that Simpson, 32, is upset but ultimately okay about her parents' decision to go their separate ways.
"She's going on with everything," the source tells People. "She's sad, but she's okay."
The Weight Watchers spokeswoman's parents, Joe and Tina, announced on Oct. 24 that after 34 years of marriage, they are calling it quits. According to TMZ, which obtained a copy of divorce papers filed in Texas, Tina filed for divorce on Sept. 24, citing "discord or conflict of personalities" as the reason for the split.
Joe Simpson also filed a response, according to TMZ, asking that his estranged wife receive nothing in the divorce.
Despite a rep's insistence that "it is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," there have been several rumors of infidelity -- not to mention reports that Joe may be gay -- swirling around the news.
Still, the Simpson family's rep said: "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."
Meanwhile, daughter Jessica is busy planning a Halloween party for daughter Maxwell and is continuing her weight loss routine.
Four days per week, "no matter how tired is, she goes to the gym," the source says. "She keeps her workouts the same."
