Jessica Simpson Ready and "Excited" to Shed Baby Weight

The new mom has a long weight-loss road ahead of her -- but a source says she's excited to slim down with Weight Watchers

Jessica Simpson loves being a new mother, but she realizes the pressure is on for her to lose the baby weight that she packed on during her pregnancy.

Luckily for the Fashion Star mentor, she has a $4 million incentive to start shedding pounds thanks to her lucrative deal with Weight Watchers. Now that Simpson is settling in as mom to baby Maxwell Drew (born May 1), she's ready to start tracking her points and losing the much-publicized weight she gained.

"As soon as Jessica heals from the C-section, she is extremely determined to get back in the gym and work out," a confidant tells Us Weekly. "She wants to show the world and is excited to do it."

During her pregnancy, the 5-foot-3 singer and fashion maven, 31, was under near-constant scrutiny for her growing baby bump. Simpson admitted to being 170 pounds when she posed nude for the cover of Elle magazine. (Though, she likely weighed much more than that by the end of her pregnancy.)

But with her Weight Watchers contract in place, she'll have to slim down at least 40-60 pounds to be within ideal weight range for the program (not to mention Hollywood body-image standards).

"She'll have to meet the weight-loss goals for the deal to go through," says the source. "She hasn't chosen a trainer yet. In fact, she hasn't even thought about working out for a year. But if she wants this, she'll need to work out a good five times a week."
