When it comes to baby names, Jessica Simpson obviously doesn't buy into the keep-it-secret-for-as-long-as-you-can school of thought (unlike, say, Adele). The singer gave hints about her baby girl's name choice long before Maxwell Drew actually arrived, and now Us Weekly reports that she's telling friends the name she wants to give to baby number two -- rumored to be a boy -- is: Ace.
We've gotta hand it to Jess -- after she and fiance Eric Johnson gave their little girl a boy's name, we wondered what she'd do if baby number two actually was a boy. How do you top a name like Max? (We wouldn't want the little dude to have a girlier name than his big sister.) Apparently, by naming your kid Ace!
Ace comes from an English expression meaning "the best" and it seems fitting for the son of a professional athlete. In fact, Olympic softball player Jennie Finch named her first son Ace, too.
And like Maxwell for a girl, Ace is a somewhat unusual name choice; it ranked just 567th on the Social Security Administration's list of popular baby names in 2011.
Of course, it's all just fun speculation at this point, but we think Ace Johnson sounds like, well, a winner.
