Jim Carrey is having a college romance at age 49. The New York Post reports that his new girlfriend is Anastasia Vitkina, a blonde Russian college student in New York City who, according to the International Business Times, is currently studying at NYU.
So how did the Mr. Popper's Penguins star meet this mystery woman? According to the Post, Vitkina is actually the ex-girlfriend of one of Carrey's friends, a partner at the swanky New York restaurant Travertine. Sources report that the actor (who became a grandfather last February when daughter Jane gave birth to now-10-month-old son Jackson) and the student started seeing each other last year after Carrey's split from Jenny McCarthy, and that they're now getting "hot and heavy."
To keep the romance going, Vitkina has been flying back and forth to L.A., where the pair was spotted at a Guns N' Roses concert earlier last week. US Weekly's sources add that they were seen on a dinner date at a downtown NYC hotspot in October.
If the reports are true, this has the potential to be Carrey's first serious relationship since his break-up with McCarthy, his girlfriend of five years, in April 2010. Though he briefly dated America's Next Top Model contestant Anchal Joseph, 24, this winter, his most memorable recent love interest was a one-sided crush on Emma Stone, which he expressed in a baffling Internet video this August. Prior to his relationship with McCarthy, Carrey was engaged to Renee Zellweger and married twice.
