Dynasty's patriarch (and the unforgettably suave voice of Charlie on Charlie's Angels), John Forsythe, has passed away. He was 92.
Forsythe lost his year-long battle with cancer on Friday in Santa Ynez, Calif., after suffering complications from pneumonia, his publicist told the Associated Press.
"He died as he lived his life... with dignity and grace, after a year-long struggle with cancer," his family said in a statement.
Forsythe won two Golden Globes for his role as Blake Carrington on the immensely popular ABC nightime drama Dynasty, which aired from 1981 to 1989; his former costars Joan Collins and Heather Locklear fondly remember their time with the actor.
"He was one of the last of the true gentlemen of the acting profession," Collins said in a statment. "I enjoyed our nine years of feuding, fussing and fighting as the Carringtons."
"John was a gentleman in every sense of the word," Locklear concurred. "He was a gifted actor who knew the true meaning of being gracious and kind. He will be missed."
