John Popper's Travelin' Blues
Blues Traveler's John Popper and musician Brian Gourgeois were arrested yesterday for possession of pot, after being pulled over at a traffic stop in Washington State. E! is reporting that Popper, who was the passenger, and his pal were clocked doing over 100 miles an hour on I 90.
Cops caught the sweet smell of the ganja and searched the car with police dogs. The pup turned up quite the interesting plethora of goodies; marijuana, a marijuana pipe, four rifles, nine handguns and a switchblade, to be exact.
The state patrol seized the Mercedes, which was registered to Johnny, but not before uncovering a Taser and night-vision goggles, as well. The vehicle was also equipped with a siren, emergency headlights and a public address system, the WSP said.
"Popper indicated to troopers that he had installed these items in his vehicle because [in the event of a natural disaster] he didn't want to be left behind" and told the arresting officers that he collected weapons, the WSP said in a news release.
Note to John Popper's friends: If you're going to smoke up with the dude, wear a bullet-proof vest. And do not eat the last Devil Dog.
