Less than two months after the birth of son Benjamin, Kelly Preston and John Travolta are still glowing about the new addition to their family -- and the couple is showing off their little "miracle" on the cover of this week’s People.
After Preston and Travolta lost their 16-year-old son Jett to a seizure in January 2009, the heartbroken parents largely retreated from the public eye. Preston credits “the kindness of fans and people of all types and sorts around the world” and the support of her Scientologist church for helping the family to heal.
The star says she was "completely blown away" when, after three years of trying for a baby, she discovered she was finally pregnant. While the rumor of Preston having twins turned out to be untrue, the actress’ pregnancy was healthy and uncomplicated leading up to the birth of baby Benjamin.
Preston and Travolta’s 10-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu, waited eagerly outside the delivery room alongside close family friend, Kirstie Alley.
Travolta tells People that their son's arrival has had a happy influence on their home. "He's given the house a renewed spirit and purpose," the proud dad says.
The couple is well known for their philanthropic contributions, which included Travolta personally flying relief supplies into Haiti following the destructive earthquake. We’re certainly happy for their family, who seems well deserving of some good news.
