Johnny Depp is still happily unmarried, thankyouverymuch. Early this year, rumors swirled that Depp and Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children, had quietly gone their separate ways. But Vanessa has denied a breakup, and now Johnny has confirmed that their 14-year relationship is holding steady.
"No way. The rumors are not true. They are absolutely not true," Depp, 48, told the U.K.'s Sun newspaper at the London premiere of Dark Shadows Wednesday.
"No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite," sighed the star. "I can't say enough about it not being over."
Back in January, People reported that the relationship between Depp and his French actress partner was "all but officially finished," with the couple leading separate lives. Depp later called the rumors "hurtful," and Paradis, 39, insisted it was just another ridiculous tabloid story.
"Here, this is one which could hurt my family," she said of the breakup report. "After that... they say that we have 52 houses in France, we separate in winter, we get married every summer. Me, I'm in my 12th pregnancy."
Although the couple is clearly exacerbated with the rumor, Depp didn't help matters when he was allegedly caught sneaking out of Ashley Olsen's apartment after an overnight visit in March. (In Touch ran that story, so take it with a grain of salt.)
In fairness, Vanessa and Johnny have always spent much of their time apart -- and Paradis has said that "the fact that we're not together every day plays a big part in keeping our relationship stable." Let's hope so!
