Is Johnny Depp a single man? The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 48, and his partner of nearly 14 years, 38-year-old French model Vanessa Paradis, haven't appeared together on a red carpet in more than a year -- and now, multiple sources tell People that the couple's relationship is "all but officially finished."
Depp and Paradis, along with their children Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, once enjoyed a quiet, idyllic family life living far from the prying eyes (and lenses) of paparazzi in the small town of Plan-de-la-Tour in France. Now, however, they spend most of their time in Los Angeles -- and that's only when they're in the same city (which, People's sources say, isn't often).
Just how bad ar things from the longtime couple? Well, numerous sources "in their circle" tell People that Depp and Paradis have already called it quits. "It's so sad," one insider says.
Paradis has stayed relatively under the radar during her time dating Depp, but in 2010 she gave a rare interview with the U.K. edition of Marie Claire, listing all the things she loves about Depp. Not surprisingly, there were a lot.
"The fact that we're not together every day plays a big part in keeping our relationship stable," she said. "We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other... You're really lucky if you find someone you can trust when you spend time apart."
While promoting The Tourist, Depp told iVillage that he holds his job as parent very close to his heart -- something we hope he remembers if he and Paradis have indeed split. "I think I'm very good at being a dad and I'm proud to say it, because as parents do, I worship my kids and I learn from my kids," Depp said. "It's the only thing I want to be good at in my life."
