Nickelodeon's 24th annual Kids' Choice Awards, hosted by Jack Black, was full of surprises, as a ton of stars came out to show their love for the younger generation in Los Angeles Saturday night.
After picking up the award for favorite movie actor for his role in Alice in Wonderland, Johnny Depp aimed a giant slime gun at the crowd and gave the audience a nice green coating.
"You guys are the future," the always-cool actor said, right before he laid the green smackdown. "Take good care of us."
There were plenty more awards (and slimings to come): Heidi Klum got hit while presenting Selena Gomez with the favorite TV actress award, and Russell Brand got doused by fans when he awarded the favorite animated movie voice blimp to Eddie Murphy for Shrek Forever After.
"I'm never having children!" Brand said as the kids took aim at him.
Escaping the slime but taking home an award were Miley Cyrus and Jaden Smith, who won for favorite movie actress (The Last Song) and favorite movie (The Karate Kid), respectively. Jaden's sister Willow Smith also kept her locks slime-free while she took the stage to perform her hit, "Whip My Hair."
Justin Timberlake was on hand to accept the "big help award" for his work with the Shriners Hospital for Children.
"I want to dedicate this to all of you very cool, very loud kids," Timberlake said. "This is your world."
