Want Parenting Lessons from Jon Gosselin?

The reality star wants to focus an upcoming book "on his parenting skills," but will anyone want to take advice from him?

Jon Gosselin, who seems to have forgotten what a real job looks like, has come up with yet another scheme to cash in on his dubious fame: writing a self-help book! Because if you need help finding your direction in life, who better to help you than Jon Gosselin?

According to sources at Popeater, "Jon is still deciding what exactly the book will be about, but he knows he wants to focus on his parenting skills." Friends say that Jon's book is "motivated by his desire to be a good father to his kids" -- which, as you may recall, was also the motivation for his full-back tattoo. And there will be a biographical element, including "Jon's journey from high school to father of sextuplets by age 27."

Honestly, we're tired of hearing about how totally crazy it is that Jon Gosselin was a father of twins and sextuplets before he turned thirty. Yes, it's an unusual situation. But Jon keeps acting like it's something that just happened, like he was hit by lightning eight times and we should think he's really brave for surviving. The fact is, Jon and Kate knew what they were getting into when they decided to go for fertility treatments right after their twins were born. Then they went against the usual doctors' recommendations by deciding to carry all six fertilized eggs to term -- and they now have eight healthy, beautiful kids, because of decisions they made together, as a couple.

Jon can whine all he wants about being deprived of his wild-child twenties, but that's the life he chose for himself. Just because he's divorced doesn't mean he gets to revise history.

And that's what we imagine Jon's book will be: revised history. If Gosselin is writing an advice book, he has to hold himself up as a shining example of modern fatherhood, right? But we don't want to hear it. Both Gosselin parents need to learn to put their kids first -- and better that Jon be an imperfect parent at home than a perfect parent in the press.
