We know! We thought Jon Gosselin wanted to leave his marriage to Kate in the dust as fast as the legalities would allow him, but it seems that the playboy dad is trying to repair his image a tad by slowing things down. The dad of eight filed papers this morning seeking a 90-day suspension of the divorce proceedings.
Jon wants us to believe that he's sorry for the way he's been gallivanting since splitting with Kate, telling In Touch Weekly, "I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated. I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon.”
He even has his lawyer on his side. "He woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and didn’t like the reflection,” Mark Jay Heller told the mag. The lawyer said Jon "realized he’d made some bad choices" and that he would "like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting."
But don't hold your breath for the big Jon and Kate reunion show – it's not happening.
A source close to the couple told E! Online that Jon's latest legal move was "not an emotional or romantic decision," but "both a legal and PR strategy meant to force Kate to deal with Jon on many important issues relating to the welfare of his children."
Coincidentally, the news of Jon's desire to halt his divorce came on the same day that TLC announced that they were revamping the show that made The Gosselins who they are today -- by dropping Jon from the title and focusing more on Kate's parental role.
Does Jon even have a shot at redemption in the eyes of the public? Chime in below!
