Kate Gosselin Says Jon Took $200,000 from Joint Account

It was just a matter of time before Jon and Kate Gosselin's nasty divorce battle became specifically about money.

Kate's lawyer, Marty Singer, alleges that Jon withdrew $200,000 from his and Kate's joint bank account without telling his ex – and Kate was only informed when the bank issued an overdraw notice. Singer told People.com that Jon never gave Kate the heads up that he was about to take the cash -- even though the court had told them not to take significant amounts from joint accounts without the other's approval. The lawyer said he contacted Jon's attorney on Friday but never heard back.

"They have not responded. I'm sure he will respond by going on another TV show," Singer dug, referring to Jon's recent appearance on Larry King Live, where the dad of eight said he was attempting to stop production of TLC's new venture, Kate Plus 8.

Singer says that Jon can be held in contempt of court for taking the cash, which left only about $1,000 in his and Kate's account.

"Of course she's upset," Singer said of Kate.

Seems like Jon is making one bold move after another – but this one could get him into some major trouble.

Why do you think Jon would take the money when he knew the courts would find out? Chime in below!
