While Jon Gosselin reportedly has no part in TLC's revamped version of the once wildly successful Jon & Kate Plus 8 (now simply Kate Plus 8), he's still earning a pretty penny from the network. PopEater.com alleges that Jon, 33, is bringing in roughly $70,000 during the show's run to, more or less, keep quiet.
A rather impressive figure to not appear on a television show, but not nearly as staggering as what his ex-wife Kate Gosselin and their eight children (9-year old twins Madelyn and Cara and 6-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Hannah, Collin, Leah, Joel, and Alexis) are making.
A source says Kate, 35, and her brood are set to make upwards of $700,000 for their show, $200,000 of which goes directly to the kids. While that comes to each child earning $25,000 (!), one must factor in the additional money Mama Gosselin brought home for Dancing With the Stars (a mind-boggling half a million dollars!)
The same source went on to tell PopEater, "The reason you don't see Jon looking for a job or doing embarrassing interviews is that he is still on the TLC payroll," adding, "Although it must sting him to know his kids are earning more money than he is." In addition to all this, according to a report in April by TMZ.com, Jon currently pays $20,000 a month in child support.
It seems money has often been a point of contention between the now-divorced couple: in late 2009 Kate told the Today show that she didn't have enough money to pay bills and accused Jon of taking $200,000 from their joint bank account.
