Sexy is in the eye of the beholder. Bradley Cooper? For me, yes! Tom Cruise? Not so much. When it comes to politicians, sexy isn't a quality I look for. But one publication has been pondering just that, declaring that former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is officially sexy!
No, he's not gracing People magazine's annual "Sexiest Man Alive" cover. But 52-year-old Huntsman has been dubbed one of the 21 sexiest men over 50 by AARP magazine. It's not as old school as it may sound, especially since 50 is the new 30. Plus, the motorcycle riding Huntsman is in some pretty hot company. Others who made the list include George Clooney (obviously), Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and NBC News Anchor Brian Williams. But Huntsman is the only over 50 politician to be included.
So what criteria were used? Is President Obama sexy? What about Mitt Romney? People magazine seemed to think he was sexy list material in 2002. But they didn't even make the runner-up list, which did include a couple of other political players -- former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former presidential candidate Wesley Clark.
Huntsman was the "hippest dude" among the GOP presidential candidates this year, according to the AARP panel making the selections, but there was no mention about whether his views on cutting Medicare, an issue that impacts millions of AARP members, was also sexy.
All this talk about sexy politicians makes me wonder what those Huntsman girls will do with this?
