People just can't pass up watching a train wreck.
The premiere of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 scored record-breaking ratings Monday night, taking in an audience of 9.8 million viewers -- that's the highest in the history of TLC and more than double Jon & Kate's previous record of 4.6 million viewers.
It was obvious we were all dying to see how Jon and Kate Gosselin were dealing with all the media scrutiny surrounding their lives and their eight children, and what was more telling than Jon & Kate doing separate interviews instead of together like in past seasons?
"As many couples do, we are navigating a very difficult time," the couple said in a statement to People. "Our current situation brings us together around the children and some times sets us apart. We keep our faith that we will make the right decisions for our family."
