Let’s get ready to rumble!
At last, the hotly anticipated debates between President Barack Obama and GOP hopeful Mitt Romney are right around the corner. And now so is another newly announced debate -- one that might have less global consequence, but should be a lot more fun.
Media personalities Bill O'Reilly of The O'Reilly Factor and Jon Stewart of The Daily Show will face off in a 90-minute debate to be known as "The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” on October 6 at 8PM in Washington, D.C. at the Lisner Auditorium on the campus of George Washington University.
Moderated by former Fox News Live host and CNN contributor E.D. Hill, the event will stream live for purchase ($4.95) at www.therumble2012.com, with the competitors set to donate half of the proceeds to charity. Tickets for the event range from $75 to $100, though George Washington students will be able to purchase tickets for $25.
O’Reilly and Stewart will go head to head on topics of national and global importance. Anyone who pre-orders the program online will have the chance to submit a written question that may be asked as part of the debate -- and we’re expecting those questions will provide fodder for a funny and informative spectacle.
"I'm excited to debate Mr. O'Reilly," Stewart said in a press release. "I believe this will be a very enjoyable night for fans of our programs, political junkies, partisans and people who just enjoy yelling."
Starting the trash talking early, O’Reilly weighed in: "I had no idea my agent signed me up for this. How can I get out of it?"
