It's beginning to feel inevitable. Every day, it seems, another celebrity comes to a particular conclusion: "My life is so interesting, a camera crew should follow me around all the time!" The latest addition to the real-life docu-soap genre is E!'s Married to Jonas (premiering on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 10 p.m. ET), which stars the oldest Jonas brother, Kevin, and his wife, Danielle Deleasa.
The young couple, who married on Dec. 19, 2009, when Kevin was 22 and Danielle, a former hairdresser, was 23, will have cameras following them as they live their domestic lives in suburban New Jersey. Not only will the show capture the pair dealing with Danielle's lively and outspoken Italian family, but it will also chronicle the Jonas Brothers' professional lives as they head back into the studio to record their next album. The truth is, Kevin and his brothers Nick and Joe are likable guys with gobs of youth appeal, so it's no wonder that Ryan Seacrest has agreed to produce this show!
What sorts of plotlines will come out of this? The details are still fuzzy, but Lisa Berger, the president of entertainment programming for E!, offered some hints to Entertainment Weekly. "Danielle is living a true Cinderella story after marrying into pop royalty, partnering in Kevin’s larger-than-life career and becoming a 'Jonas,' a name synonymous with hit music and a worldwide fan base," she said. "The series presents a unique look at a young couple and their families from two entirely different worlds, one small town and one dealing with international fame, coming together as one and starting a whole new life together."
Perhaps an episode will focus on Kevin's loud snoring (an early marital problem that surfaced in the gossip columns soon after their wedding)? Let's face it, entire reality show episodes have been written on less. Or perhaps Danielle will go back to work -- inciting Kevin's jealousy when she's called to style hair for a One Direction concert? The possibilities are endless!
Whatever happens, we wish Kevin and Danielle well. And, if the young couple has learned from all of the reality TV shows before them and delivers the perfect combination of the overbearing celeb family a la Khloe & Lamar, the verbal mishaps of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, sprinkled with a dash of The Real Housewives of New Jersey fiery Italian debates, we're in!
