That Josh Duhamel is so romantic!
As a surprise for his wife of a year, the actor set up a vow renewal ceremony for himself and Fergie, just outside Santa Barbara, Calif., on Wednesday.
The couple had a lavish wedding in January 2009, but this time it was just the two of them and a minister, according to Radaronline.com.
"It was a total surprise for Fergie," a source said.
Duhamel, 37, and the Black Eyed Peas singer, 34, flew via private helicopter to Santa Barbara from Los Angeles before jumping in a limo to the posh Bacara Resort & Spa. During the 15-minute oceanside ceremony, Fergie was reportedly "crying and very emotional."
After renewing their vows, the couple ate a romantic dinner at the resort's Miro restaurant. "They had the whole restaurant to themselves and left before the first customers came in," a source said. The couple headed back to L.A. after their dinner together.
It's been a tough year for the couple, who battled an infidelity scandal over the summer, when Duhamel was accused of a fling with stripper Nicole Forrester while filming a movie. (The actor denied the allegations and Fergie stood by him.) Sources say that rough patch only made their relationship stronger.
