Jennifer Aniston definitely made an impression on Cougar Town's Josh Hopkins while she filmed a guest spot on his show. But despite swirling rumors, the actor swears there's nothing romantic going on between them.
"No, no, we're just friends – just friends having dinner," Hopkins told People.com on Sunday at Nautica Malibu Triathlon, of their date last week. "There are a lot of friends I'd less rather go to dinner with," he added, laughing.
The actor does admit that he picked up the tab for their night out -- but that's just because of how he was brought up. "Well I'm a southern gentleman," he said. "So I had to do that."
As for being linked romantically to Aniston, who has also been seen with Lindsay Lohan's ex Harry Morton in recent days, Hopkins doesn't seem too upset. "There are worse people to be in a rumor with," he said.
Hopkins does say that it was treat to get to work with Aniston and Courteney Cox together on Cougar Town because of their personal chemistry.
"They are both such iconic TV figures and actors," he said. "Any time I see them (together) ... all the Friends stuff showers over (you) – and they act so well together. They are like best friends so it was such a joy and I know they were having so much fun."
