We're guessing someone's in big trouble for this goof! Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 48, received the ultimate celeb honor on Wednesday: a big shining star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unfortunately, her name was spelled wrong!
Just hours before the ceremony in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, the error was noticed by CNN reporter David Daniel, who noticed her last name misspelled as "Luis Dreyfus" (without an "o" or hyphen in the surname). Daniel reportedly alerted workmen at the site to the gaffe, and called Hollywood Walk of Fame press rep Ana Martinez-Holler.
While Martinez-Holler confessed "she almost puked" in her car at the thought of the embarrassing scenario, the high-profile plaque was temporarily fixed in time for the ceremony. (A new one will be permanently placed there soon.)
But according to US Weekly, one of the people who got the biggest kick out of the blunder was Louis-Dreyfus herself! The New Adventures of Old Christine star found the incident "hysterical." In fact, since the actress was such a good sport about the mistake, they're giving her the "Luis Dreyfus" star as a memento. Now, Louis-Dreyfus is the first and only Seinfeld cast member with a star (albeit a poorly spelled one) on the Walk of Fame!
