At 21, Julia Roberts landed the part of a sassy waitress at a Connecticut pizza parlor in Mystic Pizza. Although this wasn't her first movie role (she had already starred in Satisfaction, which came out earlier that year), this was the role that had people noticing her. She told People in 2002, "The first time I felt famous was when I went to the movies with my mom, Someone in the bathroom said, 'Girl in stall number one, were you in Mystic Pizza?' I paused and said, 'Yeah, that was me.'"
