HBO has a big season coming up in 2012, but one of the network's most hotly anticipated projects is the upcoming political film Game Change, about the 2008 presidential election. Early photos of lead actors Julianne Moore and Ed Harris showed them offering up spot-on visual portrayals of former vice presidential and presidential candidates Sarah Palin and John McCain -- and, now that the film's first trailer has arrived, we finally get to see Moore and Harris in action. So does Moore do a convincing Palin? Watch the teaser below to find out!
The movie follows the 2008 presidential election as Republican candidate John McCain and his adviser Steve Schmidt (Woody Harrelson) put into motion a plan to win votes away from Barack Obama. Their plan? Choose a "game-changing" running mate no one will see coming. Enter former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
The minute-long teaser trailer doesn't offer up the best sense of the movie's tone. Sure, it's going to be showing the election from the inside out -- or at least how Mark Halperin and John Heilemann portrayed it in their book of the same name. But will it be a dramatic film, or more of a comedic look at the election? And will it show Palin and McCain in a positive or negative light?
Judging by comments Palin recently made to Fox News, we're guessing the latter.
Said Palin: "I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie."
